Environmental Health & Safety Sr. Supervisor
We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual for our client willing to work hard to execute the company safety vision through planning, implementing, controlling, monitoring, and evaluating the Environmental Health and Safety operations.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Monitor employee safety programs and risk levels.
• Inspect, test, and measure facilities and work areas to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
• Develop and administer safety programs, procedures, and training.
• Monitor the facility to ensure adequate and safe working conditions.
• Develops and administers emergency response policies and protocols. Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocols.
• Manage legal compliance for safety and environmental legislation.
• Manage internal compliance for OSHA requirements; may also lead/participate in OSHA inspections and audits.
• Organize factory safety and environment training, collaborating with local authorities.
• Manage SHE-related budgeting, purchasing, reporting, and filing.
• Coordinate related permits and certifications.
• Partners with operational, quality, facilities/maintenance, and HR teams to ensure appropriate safety and environmental compliance and programs.
• Manage factory pollutants and environments by maintaining a relationship with relevant government entities.
Pay: $75K-$80K
Hours: Full-time role
•Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
•Knowledge of federal, state, and local building codes, OSHA, and industry safety
rules/regulations.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
•Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
•Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
•Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
•Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed.
•Must be willing to abide by Client's policies and procedures, including those that are safety-related.
•Demonstrates a professional, team-first attitude toward work and co-workers.
•Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of tools and equipment.
•Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Constant physical activities are required for this position.
•Activities include: ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more; ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously during shift; intense walking is involved. Dexterity for manipulating work materials; repetitive motion, ability to respond to safety signals, such as those generated by forklifts.
