Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Level Collector to join our team in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical collections, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) accurately. In this role, you will manage complex accounts, communicate with patients and insurance companies, and ensure timely collections while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the collection efforts for outstanding patient accounts, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.


• Review and interpret EOBs to identify discrepancies, denials, and payment issues; collaborate with payers to ensure correct payment.


• Utilize strong negotiation skills to communicate effectively with patients regarding their outstanding balances and payment plans.


• Conduct regular follow-ups on overdue accounts, documenting all communications and actions taken.


• Analyze accounts receivable reports to identify trends and develop strategies for improving collections.


• Conduct training and mentorship for junior collectors, providing guidance on best practices and compliance issues.


• Stay updated on healthcare regulations and changes in billing practices to ensure compliance.


• Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and clinical staff, to resolve payment issues and streamline processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical collections, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.


• Strong understanding of healthcare billing processes, insurance claims, and EOB interpretation.


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on customer service.


• Proficiency in collection software and MS Office Suite.


• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.


• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
