We are seeking a talented Payroll Systems Specialist to join our Client’s team in Plano. The Payroll Systems Specialist will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our Client’s payroll systems to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, system configurations, and compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related system issues.


 


Responsibilities:


 



  • Manage and oversee the configuration, implementation, and updates of the payroll system.

  • Ensure the payroll system operates efficiently and integrates with other HR systems (HRIS, benefits, etc.).

  • Maintain employee data integrity in the system, ensuring all employee records are up-to-date and accurate.

  • Support the payroll team by overseeing system functionalities during payroll processing (e.g., ensuring correct tax withholdings, wage calculations, and deductions).

  • Assist in troubleshooting payroll discrepancies or system errors.

  • Provide system-related support to payroll staff to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.

  • Generate accurate payroll reports for internal stakeholders, including finance, HR, and leadership teams.

  • Analyze payroll data and provide insights into payroll trends, overtime, and labor costs.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the functionality of the payroll system, streamlining processes and increasing efficiency.

  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to integrate new features or tools that improve payroll accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure payroll processes and systems adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Prepare for and assist with payroll audits by providing necessary documentation and system reports.


Required Qualifications :
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience working with payroll systems, preferably with PeopleSoft or similar systems.

  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficiency in using payroll software and understanding payroll-related system configurations.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing and reporting.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with HR, finance, and IT teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Experience with system integrations, data migration, or system upgrades.

  • Familiarity with benefits and timekeeping systems.
